A Day in Baden-Baden or Strasbourg
Day trips
Some days belong to the park. And sometimes you feel like venturing further afield. Baden-Baden is half an hour away; Strasbourg, three quarters of an hour. You will be back in time for dinner.
Baden-Baden: the shorter journey
Baden-Baden is the shorter journey. Spend the morning on the Lichtentaler Allee, an hour at the Museum Frieder Burda around lunchtime, and the afternoon in the Friedrichsbad, where people have followed the same bathing ritual for more than 140 years. It has stood the test of time. If you would like an evening at the Festspielhaus, tell us early and we will take care of the tickets.
Strasbourg: across the Rhine
Strasbourg is the journey across the Rhine. You can see the cathedral from afar, yet standing before it is something else entirely. Afterwards, wander through the lanes of Petite France over a tarte flambée and a glass of Riesling. It is the same wine country as ours; only the map lets the Rhine divide it. We are happy to write down the places where we ourselves eat in Strasbourg. The note will be waiting beside your breakfast basket in the morning.
Good to know
Both cities are easy to reach directly by car; Baden-Baden is also a relaxed train journey from Achern.
