Much here is new – the suites, the technology, the name. What we want to preserve is older: the way of welcoming guests for which this valley is known. No one person is the host here; it is everyone you meet.

“We want a house that dictates nothing to you – not even breakfast time. When your day begins, what it tastes like and where it ends: that is for you to decide.”

  • We believe tranquillity is the true luxury.
  • We believe the park is the largest room in the house.
  • We believe in breakfast without a set time.
  • We believe every suite should have a kitchen – and every kitchen should come with the freedom never to use it.
  • We believe good hosts sense when they are needed – and when they are not.
  • We believe good things have an origin – and a name.
  • We believe the most sustainable house is one that already stands.
  • We believe you can offer tranquillity only if you possess it yourself.
  • We believe a house must know its history before it can become something new.
  • This is the standard we set ourselves – every day, in every detail. And you may take us at our word.

A mill by the stream, forbidden bread, an auction on Christmas Eve and a star that remained for forty-one years. Seven chapters have been written – we are working on the eighth.

Four-hundred-year-old walls, electricity from our own roof, bread from the village bakery. Most of this is not a special initiative, but simply how things are built and done here.
