Christmas Markets Around Sasbachwalden

In December, three very different Christmas markets are within reach: one in the village, one in the Kurstadt and one across the Rhine. You can visit them on three separate evenings and still sleep in your own bed each night.

On the first two weekends of Advent, the Christmas market opens in the Kurpark, just a few steps from us. It is gluten-free, which has made it known far beyond the region. Anyone who usually has to miss out can enjoy everything here.

Half an hour away, Baden-Baden sets its Christkindelsmarkt in front of the Kurhaus, beneath old trees and strings of lights. An afternoon there pairs well with a visit to the thermal baths.

And across the Rhine, the Christkindelsmärik fills the lanes around the cathedral. Dating back to 1570, it is one of the oldest in Europe. It is at its loveliest in the early evening, when the facades are lit and the air smells of vin chaud.
