The Soapmaker

2 to 8 guests · just over 2 hours · apron included · on request

Soap is made from very little: oil, lye and time, along with the experience to bring all three together in just the right way. In the soapmaker’s workshop, you do not stand and watch. You make the soap yourself.

You choose the oils and fragrance, pour the mixture into moulds, then cut it. As you work, the master soapmaker explains why good soap needs to mature like cheese, and how to tell when it is ready.

Your own bars need four weeks before they are ready. You will not leave empty-handed, though: you take a selection of matured soap with you straight away, and your own bars follow by post.

In a small group of two to eight guests, exclusively through us. Allow just over two hours; an apron is included.
