The Soapmaker
Soap is made from very little: oil, lye and time, along with the experience to bring all three together in just the right way. In the soapmaker’s workshop, you do not just stand and watch. You make the soap yourself.
Boiling, pouring, cutting
You choose the oils and fragrance, pour the mixture into moulds, then cut it. As you work, the soap maker explains why good soap has to mature like cheese – and how to tell when it is ready.
What travels home with you
Your own bars need four weeks to be ready. You will not leave empty-handed though: you take a selection of matured soap with you straight away – and your own follows by mail.
