People have been traveling to this corner of Germany for decades. Between Sasbachwalden, Baden-Baden and Baiersbronn great chefs, old distilleries and south-facing vineyards sit closer together than almost anywhere else in the country. And this house is part of that story – for forty-one years running the former Talmühle held a Michelin star.

The Gourmet Days: three nights to taste the region
A day of good things
A day here might look like this: breakfast arrives in a basket to your door, a Vesper platter at one of the seasonal Straußenwirtschaften along the Wine Route at lunchtime, in the afternoon an eau-de-vie tasting at its production site. And in the evening, the choice is yours – our partner restaurant, the 1839Malerhaus in Achern, or a menu in your suite created by our chef.
The three evenings
One evening is spent at the 1839Malerhaus in Achern and Paul Stradner’s cuisine: the table is booked, your transport arranged, and the evening ends with your favorite drink in your suite. The second night is enjoyed in your own kitchen – the menu arrives prepared, recipe included, the cooking is yours. And the third evening is what you make of it – we gladly reveal the hidden gems. The order is up to you.
Good to know
The Straußenwirtschaften open by season – reception knows which one is laying tables just now.
