Across the Plain to Offenburg

Touring bike · 49 km · Around 3 hours · Just 260 metres of ascent · Easy

The flattest of our routes is also the longest: out into the Rhine Plain, with the Black Forest always behind you and Hornisgrinde on the horizon.

From Achern, the route crosses traditional orchards and fields to the River Rench, then later follows the old Roman road. Hardly any climbing, plenty of open space: this is a tour made for conversation.

In Offenburg, it is worth stopping at the Kinzig bridge and in the old town. On the return route, you will pass Bauhöfer’s Braustübl; its brewery is one of the oldest in the region.

Good to know: This route is easy to ride without an e-bike. If you stop at the Braustübl along the way, allow an extra half hour.
