Across the Plain to Offenburg

Touring bike · 49 km · Around 3 hours · Just 260 metres of ascent · Easy

The flattest and longest of our routes. Heading out into the Rhine Plain, with the Black Forest at your back and Hornisgrinde on the horizon.

From Achern, the route runs along traditional orchards and fields to the River Rench, then following the old Roman road. Hardly any climbing, plenty of open country – this is a tour made for conversation.

In Offenburg it is worth stopping at the Kinzig bridge and in the old town. On the way back, you will pass Bauhöfer’s Braustübl – one of the oldest breweries in the region.

Comfortable without an e-bike. If you stop at the Braustübl along the way, allow an extra half hour.
