The Achertal Panoramic Circuit
The Achertal Panoramic Circuit
Cycling
The grand circuit follows the heights around the valley, skirts the national park and climbs towards Hornisgrinde, at 1,164 metres the highest peak in the northern Black Forest.
The climb
The route adds up to around 1,500 metres of ascent. You do not have to manage all of that under your own steam: the circuit is very achievable by e-bike, with charging available along the way, including at Grinde-Hütte at the top.
At the top and back again
Mummelsee is well worth a pause. The descent returns you to Sasbachwalden along forest tracks, with yellow signs guiding you all the way to our front door.
