One of the area’s better-known loops, named after the trail that holds it together and featuring a viewpoint called Knetschwasen.
Across the Knetschwasen
The climb is long but steady. At the top, the view opens out over Kappelrodeck and the vineyards: a good place for the first long break.
The trail and the ride back
The Black Forest trail towards Spinnerhof is the section you come for. The return passes the Illenau, the former institution in Achern that now houses the town hall, a museum and a bistro.
